NIA PRESIDENT VISITS THE HON. MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENT

The President of the Nigerian Institute of Architects, Arc Mobolaji Adeniyi, FNIA, with a delegation of 10 architects paid a courtesy to the Honourable Minister of Environment, Mallam Balarabe Abbas Lawal, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

the delegation consisted of The 1st Vice President, Arc Sani Saulawa, The 2nd Vice President, Arc Chioma Wogu-Ogbonna, The 3rd Vice President, Arc Ali Muhktar, The Honorary General Secretary, Arc Chike Ibeanu, The Chair of NIA, Abuja Chapter Arc Yemi Sola-Adebiyi, Arc M. B Bello, Arc Lawal, Arc Z. Gomwalk, and the Chair Public Relations Committee, Arc Chris Uloko.

The visit was for the purpose of initiating “critical engagement” to ensure that the NIA’s voice is heard in the process of policy formulation as well as lend its wealth of experience to government where necessary.

The areas of focus are:

  1. Climate Change Awareness and Mitigation Initiatives
  2. Advocacy, Innovation & Capacity Building Programs
  3. Natural Disaster/Climate Impact Mapping and Public Assessibility to Data
  4. Tax Incentives Towards Net Zero Building Technologies
  5. Education Curriculum Review

The Highlight of the visit was a presentation made by Arc M. B. Bello, FNIA, on the Infrastructure Development Committee involving a coalition of various professionals working together with government in the development Nigeria’s Infrastructure.
