50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE COMMONWEALTH ASSOCIATION OF ARCHITECTS (CAA)
Tokyo 2011: Design 2050 Dedicated to supporting research in the above areas, this chair will function in collaboration with the World Monument Watch (WMW) and the Universtity of Cuenca in Ecuador.
UNESCO chairs are set up to encourage international cooperation in higher education through collaborative training opportunities and research and to promote solidarity among universities in the development fields.Contact
Raymond Lemaire International Center for Conservation
The city of Tokyo, which for so many exemplifies contemporary architecture, will host the next UIA congress on 25 to 29 September 2011. It will be followed immediately by a UIA General Assembly, on 29 September to 1 October. Visions of design will be elaborated and shared in relation to considerations on the environment, life , and survival. The congress will examine these questions in the perspective of designing for 2050 and beyond.
The congress will take place at the prestigious Tokyo International Forum, realized by Rafael Vinoly as the result of an international competition organized with the support of the UIA in 1989. for more information http://www.uia-architectes.org/texte/england/Congress/Tokyo2011/2_Congress.html A UNESCO Chair at The University of Louvain On 24 and 25 March 2009, the Catholic University of Louvain la Neuve in Belgium will inaugurate, as part of its Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation (RLICC), a UNESCO chair for preventive surveillance, maintenance and management of monuments and sites.International Day of Monuments and Sites On 18 April 2009 we will celebrate the International Day of Monuments and Sites. This year’s theme is Architecture and Science.
