Message from the UIA2021RIO Executive Committee

UIA2021RIO
Greetings to everyone registered for the 27th World Congress of Architects – UIA2021RIO, together with its speakers, guests, and staff. Amid so much suffering and so many tragic losses, we express our support, inviting everyone to reflect on the experiences and lessons learned during 2020.

Inspired by difficulties all over the world, the UIA2021RIO Executive Committee has been working closely with the Brazilian Institute of Architects (IAB) on the organisation of a safe, innovative, and feasible event addressing the keynote theme. This has become more relevant than ever: All the Worlds. Just One World. Architecture 21.

Scheduled to open in March 2021 in a digital format, the full UIA2021RIO event will continue through to July. In-person activities are also planned to take place in Rio de Janeiro. Like a forewarning in the Congress theme, and addressed in its discussions, presentations and exhibitions, the interdependence of humankind is the cornerstone underpinning our hope of contributing to better living conditions and a healthier constructed environment, fulfilling the core role of architects and urban planners.

The schedule of the events planned for next year will be disclosed periodically through our social network accounts, as well as a new website that we plan to launch in January.

Whether virtual or in-person, your participation will be a key factor for a broad-ranging Congress with decisive ideas and proposals for a better world. Wishing you all a New Year packed with hope, happiness, and achievements, we look forward to seeing you soon!
